Yes! I once pushed for a green roof on a boutique retail space. It looked amazing… for the first year. Then we ran into drainage issues and nobody budgeted for a full-time gardener.
Maintenance is something people underestimate though. You need a solid contract with landscapers familiar with green infrastructure, not just standard mowers. Still worth it, in my view. Bonus: helped our LEED points.
