Now this is so real. Arizona commercial real estate moves fast, and trying to keep all the plates spinning with work and home life can feel overwhelming some days. What’s helped me lately is just being intentional with my calendar blocking out time for family dinners, workouts, or even just 30 minutes to unplug. If it’s not scheduled, it disappears.
Appreciate you starting this thread, definitely feel like we all need more of these honest talks.

blocking out time is a game-changer. Arizona CRE doesn’t slow down, so making a little time to breathe makes a big difference. Thanks for sharing that reminder.

For me, it came down to redefining “success.” I used to think it was about closing X deals or hitting Y in cash flow. Now it’s about: Am I present for dinner? Am I taking care of my body? Am I still enjoying the game? Commercial real estate in Arizona is a wild ride, but if I lose myself in the chase, what’s the point? Slowing down is sometimes the biggest flex.

I’m not an agent or investor, but I support a small team of brokers, and I see how much pressure they’re under.

For me, balance means treating weekends like sacred ground. I won’t schedule meetings after Friday 3pm, even if I’m in the middle of a big entitlement process.

The work will be there Monday. But these kids won’t be little forever.

I live by my calendar. If it’s not scheduled, it doesn’t happen. That means blocking off family dinners, gym time, and even “do nothing” hours the same way I block off property tours or client calls. It sounds rigid, but it actually gives me more freedom.
